Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 November 2026
This policy covers Gclone (the Google OAuth client that rclone uses on pve1, my Proxmox VE home server) and this website. I'm Tyorj and I run both.
Who it's for
Only me. Gclone backs up my server to my own Google Drive. Nobody else can sign up, sign in or use it.
Google data it accesses
Gclone asks for one permission, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file, which Google describes as "See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app." In practice that means the backup files it uploaded itself. It can't see any other files in the Drive, or Gmail, Photos, contacts, calendar or anything else in the Google account.
How it's used
About once a day, pve1's backup job bundles configuration backups (the settings of the Proxmox host and the services on it) and rclone uploads them to a folder it created in my Google Drive. The access is used for nothing else.
Storage and protection
rclone crypt encrypts file contents and file names on pve1 before upload, so Google stores only encrypted data. It can see file sizes and dates. Uploads go over HTTPS.
The access token is kept in rclone's config file on pve1, which only the server's admin account can read, and is sent only to Google.
Sharing
Gclone collects no data about anyone. Nothing is sold, shared or transferred. There are no ads or analytics, and none of the data is used to train AI or machine learning models. No one but me sees it.
Gclone's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
rclone deletes its own archives once they're older than about 30 days. To delete all of them right away, delete the backup folder in Google Drive and empty it from the Drive trash, where deleted files can stay for up to 30 days.
Revoking access
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. After that Gclone can't reach the Drive at all.

These pages are static: no cookies, no JavaScript, no analytics and no third-party resources. They are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the pages, under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare Web Analytics is not enabled.
Changes
Changes to this policy are posted here with a new date. If Gclone ever uses Google data differently, this policy is updated first and access is authorized again.
