About
Gclone is my own Google OAuth client for rclone on my Proxmox VE home server. About once a day, rclone encrypts pve's configuration backups and uploads them to a folder in my Google Drive.
It has one Google permission, drive.file, which only covers files it created. It can't see anything else in my Drive or my Google account. I'm the only user. There's nothing to sign up for.

Investigating
rclone's shared client_id will stop working during 2026, and the uploads with it. Our team is looking into it. The team is me.
Identified
rclone can use a personal OAuth client instead. We made one and called it Gclone.
Monitoring
Uploads work with the new client. In Google's "Testing" mode the authorization expires every 7 days. "In production" fixes that, but Google wants a homepage and a privacy policy first.
